As the energy industry changes and new markets and technologies evolve, so too do the Platts Global Energy Awards.
As a result of valued feedback and debate with our judges and other key industry officials, we are pleased to announce a new award, a merger of two existing awards, and a number of other changes to existing awards for this year's competition.
Three years ago we changed the nomination rules for our most prestigious corporate award, the Energy Company of the Year. Feedback on that change has been universally positive. Once again, therefore, the winner of the award will be selected from the list of finalists in all other categories by our panel of judges. No nominations will be accepted for this category. In addition, however, we are extending the rules – at the judges' request – to permit direct nomination by the judges themselves of energy companies which in their view merit this award.
